Comments: The tallest of the trees in the Northeast. This tree is a good example of the size it can reach. Look up into the canopy, the leaves are in the shape of tulip flower. If you can not make out the shape of the leaf from down here look around on the ground for one. The leaf is what makes this tree easy to identify. The amazing girth of this tree made it useful in early days to carve canoes and is used for furniture production today.
